As you prepare for the new school year, remember to shop local! Every purchase you make at local businesses helps support our community, strengthens our local economy, and keeps our hometown thriving!
📝School Supply List & Pickups:
Parents can now access school supply lists for the 2026–27 school year through the links below or pick up a copy at Wilburton City Hall. Reviewing the lists early can help families get a head start on shopping before classes begin.
Wilburton JOM School Supply Pickup
Friday, July 31 | 3:00–6:00 p.m. | Wilburton Elementary Auditorium | 301 W Caddo Ave.
Families eligible for the Johnson O'Malley (JOM) program can pick up school supplies to help students prepare for the first day of class. This event is designed to make sure students have the essentials they need before school begins. Students must attend Wilburton Public Schools and have valid CDIB card on file.
Living in Latimer Coalition Back-to-School Bash
Monday, August 3 | 6:00–7:30 p.m. | Rosebure Park | 1418 Blair Ave.
Availale to all students that will be attending a Latimer County School (Wilburton, Panola, Red Oak and Buffalo Valley)
Bring the family out for an evening of fun and community as the Living in Latimer Coalition hosts its annual Back-to-School Bash. It's a great opportunity to connect with local organizations, celebrate the new school year, and enjoy activities for students and families. Please visit the Latimer County Health Department for your voucher (good for 1 backpack filled with supplies for the first 350 students)

Offering FREE sports physicals for students entering grades 6–12 who plan to participate in athletics during the upcoming school year.

Please have page 1 and 2 of the physical forms filled out before seeing the doctor. This will make the process much quicker! If you cannot print the form, you may stop by the office to pick one up between 9am-12pm Monday - Thursday.

Monday, August 10 | 6:00–8:00 p.m.
- Meet your teacher(s), find your classroom and learn where important areas are located.
- Drop off or ask about school supplies and any additional items that may be needed.
- Learn about classroom expectations, rules, and behavior policies.
- Find out how what sources of communications are used (email, apps, newsletters, etc.).
- Learn about important dates, upcoming events, and school calendars.
- Ask about lunch procedures, arrival and dismissal, and transportation.
- Ask any questions you have before the first day of school.
Wilburton Public Schools Ice Cream Social

This social event gives students, parents, and staff a chance to reconnect, meet teachers, recognize students participating in fall sports and to celebrate the start of another great year together.
Whether you're sending a child to pre-k/kindergarten for the first time or preparing a senior for their final year, these events are a wonderful way to kick off the school year. The City of Wilburton wishes all students, teachers, school staff, and families a safe, successful, and exciting 2026–27 school year!
